New ACH & Wire Transfer Request Procedures to Protect Your Account

As fraud continues to evolve, AGCU is committed to finding better ways to safeguard our members. Starting October 1, 2024, we’re implementing new, more secure procedures for requesting ACH or Wire transfers. These changes are designed to protect your sensitive information and make your transactions safer.

What’s Changing?

Members can still visit an AGCU branch to place ACH or Wire transfer requests or submit their requests through our secure Online Banking platform. Click here for instructions. This new process replaces email requests to reduce the risk of sending sensitive information such as account numbers or identification documents through less secure channels.

Through AGCU Online Banking, you’ll be able to:

  • Request an ACH or Wire transfer
  • Ask questions about your transaction
  • Upload required documents securely
  • Receive confirmations directly within the platform

Why the Change?

Email can expose your personal information to fraudsters. With the new process, your sensitive information will be securely transmitted through our two-step verification system in Online Banking, significantly lowering the risk of fraud.

What You Need to Know:

  • Starting December 2024, emailed requests for ACH or Wire transfers will no longer be accepted unless you don’t have access to Online Banking. In those rare cases, additional security steps will be required before processing your request.
  • We strongly encourage members who don’t yet use Online Banking to sign up. It’s the safest and most convenient way to manage your AGCU accounts.
  • Members can still visit an AGCU branch in person to submit a transfer request with a valid ID.
