AGCU Annual Business Meeting

AGCU’s Annual Business Meeting has been scheduled for 6:00p on Tuesday, May 25, 2021. It will be held at Oak Grove Assembly at 1320 S Oak Grove Avenue in Springfield, Missouri.


Accommodations have been made to abide by local health guidelines and to ensure a safe and successful event:

  • Due to limited seating capacity, RSVP is required (see RSVP button below).
  • Please RSVP by Tuesday, May 18, 2021.
  • This event is FREE.
  • No child care will be provided. (We ask that other arrangements be made for child care to allow maximum room for voting members.)
  • Doors will open for member check-in at 5:00p, and the meeting will start at 6:00p.
  • The New Business items on the agenda are:
  • The election of Board Members. There are two board positions up for election with five candidates on the ballot.
  • Voting to expand membership eligibility by amending Adherents of Assemblies of God churches from 5 states to all 50 states.
    • Current language in Article 4, section 4:1(5) states: “Adherents of Assemblies of God churches in Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, and Arkansas.”
    • Proposed language states: “Adherents of Assemblies of God churches in the United States of America.”


Voting Eligibility

As a reminder, there are three ways to be a voting member – each is allowed ONE vote:

1.    Individual Accounts:  This type of account has one owner who IS the primary account holder and IS a voting member.  They are allowed one vote.

2.    Joint Accounts:  This type of account has multiple owners, the primary owner plus one or more joint owners.  The primary owner will be the first name appearing on the account statement. The primary owner IS a voting member.  The other owners are NOT voting members.  This type of account is only allowed one vote.

3.    Non-individual account:  This is a business or organization account.  The entity IS a voting member and allowed only one vote.

Missouri Revised Statute states ….. no person so designated as joint tenant shall be permitted to vote, obtain loans, or hold office unless such person is within the field of membership and is a qualified member.
