Why Join a Credit Union?

Credit unions and banks. Not quite sure the difference?

Credit unions

A credit union is a financial cooperative, meaning every member of AGCU holds a share of the credit union. With your membership share, comes ownership of the credit union. As an owner, each and every member has a vote in the credit union. A group of member volunteers serve on the Board of Directors, meeting with the Executive Team and helping to oversee the direction of the credit union.

Being a not-for-profit organization, our primary motive is to serve our members – not just to earn a profit or to serve stockholders. The results – we are able to offer great savings rates, low lending rates, and minimal fees to our members.

Each account is insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) to at least $250,000. NCUA maintains one of the largest and strongest levels of financial reserves in America and is backed by the full faith and credit of the United States Government.
